𝜋-Force Challenge 2019

On 27 July 2019, YISS successfully organised its second run of the 𝜋-Force Challenge. Held at Punggol Cove Primary School, this year’s event saw a total of 18 teams from 9 different primary schools participating in the exciting challenge!

Each team, comprising a mix of Primary 4 and 5 students, were required to complete four stations - a Math station, Science station, breakout session as well as a Kahoot station. The top four teams then proceeded to the final round, where they had to complete a Mathematics-themed Escape Room as well as solve a Physics car crash challenge. After an intense competition, Palm View Team B (3rd), Xing Nan Team B (2nd) and Meridian Team A (1st) emerged as the top 3 teams for the entire challenge! At the same time, teachers from the primary schools were also engaged in a talk by our Guest of Honour, Dr Joseph Yeo Kai Kow, Senior lecturer and Assistant Head (Mathematics Education Teaching) at the National Institute of Education. A group of parents also participated in a game trail which involves completing a series of missions, including a lego model for their idea of what the future YI@Punggol campus could look like!

All-in-all, it was an enriching day of fun and learning for everyone at 𝜋-Force Challenge 2019!
