NYIDRA - 30 August 2016

NYIDRA is a Malay Language competition open to primary school students from Primary 1 to Primary 5. The word NYIDRA is aportmanteau word for ‘nyanyi’ (singing) and ‘drama’. Students are to perform a solo singing act while acting out scenes based on their interpretation of the lyrics of the song. This competition promotes Malay Language through songs and at the same time, builds self-confidence and creativity through dramatisation of a song. This year, we had a total of 18 participants from 10 primary schools who came to our school. The event was organised for the second year by our school, coinciding with the Malay Language Month (Bulan Bahasa). It was funded by Malay Language Learning and Promotion Committee (MLLPC) and supported by the National Heritage Board.
