Over half of primary school students have signed up for COVID-19 vaccination: Chan Chun Sing
More than
half of Singapore’s primary school students have signed up to get their
COVID-19 vaccination. Education Minister Chan Chun Sing gave this update at
Yusof Ishak Secondary School, which will be an upcoming vaccination centre
dedicated for children. It will be the first such centre in Singapore’s
north-eastern Punggol and Sengkang areas and will be able to administer 600
jabs a day. Altogether, the country’s 15 pediatric vaccination centres can
inoculate over 11,000 children daily.

Across the
country, 42 000 primary school students have received the first dose of the
COVID-19 vaccine. Our school, the first school in Singapore’s north-eastern
Punggol and Sengkang areas to set up a pediatric vaccination centre, will be
running its first trial to vaccinate about 70 children today.

4万多小一新生开学 中小学高中将恢复更多活动
Our school
relocated from Bukit Batok to Punggol at the end of 2021 and held our first
flag-raising ceremony at the new school building on 4 January. Our students
sang the national anthem and recited the pledge while maintaining a safe
distance throughout the proceeding.
