Modern Dance
Our Modern Dance Team is a vibrant family of passionate dancers who represent our school through the art of movement. Our CCA allows dancers to explore a wide range of genres, including contemporary, hip hop/street dance, jazz, ballet and more, nurturing versatile and well-rounded performers. The Modern Dance Team strives to continuously build a strong repertoire of both Hip Hop and Contemporary techniques, equipping students with diverse skills and expressive abilities. With passion and a deep appreciation for the arts, our dancers face challenges with resilience, using dance as a powerful tool of self-expression. Through this journey, they develop confidence, teamwork, and strong communication skills, learning to care for and support one another as one dance family while forging meaningful bonds and lasting friendships.
Key Programmes
a) Singapore Youth Festival (SYF)
Our Modern Dance Team actively participates in the SYF Arts Presentation, a signature national platform celebrating students’ artistic growth, creativity, and excellence in the arts. Through this journey, dancers are guided in choreography interpretation, technical refinement, stage discipline, and expressive storytelling. The SYF experience nurtures perseverance, professionalism, and artistic maturity, as dancers engage in structured rehearsals and reflective learning. We proudly obtained a Distinction in our most recent SYF performance in 2025, reflecting our commitment to high standards, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
b) Bi-Annual Concerts, School Performances and Competitions
Our Modern Dance Team actively participates in bi-annual concerts, school
events, and external competitions such as Super24, providing dancers with
regular opportunities to perform, grow, and showcase their talents. These
platforms expose students to diverse performance settings and audiences,
helping them build stage presence, confidence, adaptability, and resilience.
Through performances and competitions, dancers develop discipline, teamwork,
and professionalism, while learning to support one another and represent
the school with pride, excellence, and sportsmanship.
