NPCC
The National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC) unit at Yusof Ishak Secondary School develops cadets into leaders for the greater good through the inculcation of leadership, discipline, and service-oriented mindsets and values via structured training, community engagement, and teamwork. Cadets will learn police knowledge and drills, participate in ceremonial duties, support school events, and serve the community through outreach and service projects. YI NPCC builds resilience, confidence, and integrity while fostering a spirit of responsibility and civic commitment among cadets.
Key Programmes
a) Adventure Training Camp:
Camp Resilience at Pulau Ubin offers our Secondary 2 cadets a transformative three-day outdoor adventure experience. The Annual Training Camp immerses cadets in an authentic outdoors learning experience where they develop resilience, teamwork, and leadership through outdoor challenges, team-building, and scenario-based activities.
b) Inter-Unit and Area Events
Inter-Unit and Area events, such as the NPCC Annual Parade and Area Games Day, offer cadets opportunities to interact with peers from some other schools in the Northeast region. Cadets participate in joint training and competitions which broadens their exposure to NPCC beyond the school environment and enables them to learn and share best practices.
c) Courses and Badge Programmes
Through courses and badge programmes, cadets acquire competencies and knowledge such as leadership, first aid, and unarmed tactics while working towards recognized NPCC badges that support their personal growth and rank progression.
